iPodland: Steve Jobs and John Mayer discuss the mini

"Aw, thanks, Uncle Stevie..."

John Mayer: "Hey Steve, check out this cool new iPod mini I bought at the Apple booth!"

Steve Jobs: "You idiot. For fifty bucks more, you could have bought a real iPod!"

JM: "Oh well. See, I got it engraved to my hero, my guiding light, my idol..."

SJ: "But it says, 'This iPod is dedicated to John Mayer' on it."JM: "Exactly."

SJ: "Hey John, about that exclusive iTunes track we discussed. Do you think you could, you know, sing more clearly on it? We're getting complaints about your unintelligible mumbling."

JM: "But Steve, I, um, uh, hmm, er, oh, uh...[unintelligible mumbling]"

SJ: "Nevermind. You know, we're letting Hewlett-Packard sell iPod clones starting tomorrow."

JM: "Wow, Steve, that's amazing. I'm surprised you didn't set aside time for that announcement during the Keynote."

SJ: "Well, John, we sort of did...that's why when it fell through, we decided to call you."

JM: "Aw man...and here all this time, I thought it was because you guys were so in love with my capabilities. Now I find out I was only invited because the real presenter fell through. I'm crushed."

SJ: "Oh, come on now John, don't cry...look, here's the new version of KidPix Studio for MacOS X."

JM: "Whoopee! I love KidPix! Can I try it out?"

SJ: "Sure, John, go have fun with it..."

JM: "Thanks, uncle Stevie!"

SJ: "Kids these days. See I knew we should have gone with our original plan to reincarnate Jimi Hendrix and use him in the demo..."
