Billpalmer.net welcomes Will Robertson to its Internship Program

by Bill Palmer

Monday, December 8th, 2003

Two weeks ago I put out the call for those who think they have what it takes to write about Apple and the Macintosh, with the announcement of the Billpalmer.net Internship Program. Today, the program launches with Will Robertson's first billpalmer.net article. Will comes to us all the way from Australia, where he is currently doing graduate work in Mechatronic Engineering. Two other interns are currently working on their first articles, and there is still room in the program for more applicants.

So why open up billpalmer.net to voices other than my own? There are so many good reasons: to give readers the chance to read viewpoints other than my own, to bring a wider variety of content to the site, and to give aspiring writers the chance to get their name out there, to name just a few. I'm looking forward to the expanded scope that this will bring to billpalmer.net, and I hope readers are as well.

In the mean time, I encourage all of you to go and read Will's first article, entitled "Windows & MacOS X: Different design philosophies". Hopefully, it will be the first of many.

On another note, I simply can't pass up the opportunity to suggest that readers join the newly-announced online Mac User Group at billpalmer.net, which is completely free to join. The group exists solely through email, newsletters, and discussion boards, and the only "meetings" are held through iChat. There are no membership requirements beyond entering your name and email address into the entry form. If you type slowly, it'll take you about four seconds to join. The benefits include discounts, special offers, a monthly newsletter...and you can take pride in saying that you're a member of a Mac User Group. For more info, just click here.
