Internship
positions now available at billpalmer.net
Wednesday,
November 26th, 2003
I'm looking
for aspiring Mac writers who would like to take on
an internship position at billpalmer.net.
This is your opportunity to make a name
for yourself within the Macintosh community. Although
this is not a paid position, you will potentially benefit
by exposing
your talents to billpalmer.net's
diverse audience. This will look fantastic on your
resume, and just might lead to future employment opportunities
within
the Mac community, etc. If you use a Mac
and you enjoy writing about it, you are potentially
qualified for an internship position.
Who can benefit
from an intern position at billpalmer.net? I'm looking for
Mac-using college students, Mac users looking to break into
the Macintosh
workforce,
Mac users who want to show off their writing skills, recent
Switchers who want to share their experiences...there is no
shortage of unique perspectives about the Mac that are worth
sharing. Here's your opportunity!
The details
for prospective interns:
-
You
must write and submit an original Mac-related or Apple-related
article
to billpalmer.net, at least once per month.
-
Your
article can be a commentary, a review, a how-to
guide, a discussion
of a specific issue, or just about
any other format of value to readers. The only requirement
is that
its subject matter
must be relevant to Apple and/or the Macintosh.
-
Your
article may be subject to minor editing, but you will have
the opportunity
to approve any editorial changes, before the article
is posted
I
will post your article on billpalmer.net, and I will make
every effort to get your article linked to by MacSurfer and
any other referral sites possible.
-
You
will have the opportunity to have your name, biography, and
contact information posted on the "about" page
of billpalmer.net.
-
I
will create an email address for you ("yourname@billpalmer.net")
that will act
as a forwarding
address to your real email address for as long
as you keep your internship active. This forwarding address
will be included
with each of your articles, so that readers can
send feedback and/or questions about your article directly
to you, and you
can interact with them.
-
A
thread will be created on the billpalmer.net
discussion boards specifically
for your article, and you will have the opportunity
to interact on the boards with those who
post comments about
your article.
- You
will automatically become a member of the billpalmer.net online
Mac User Group,
which will provide you with the opportunity to keep up with the
Mac universe and come into contact with other Mac users all over
the world.
-
You
will
not be paid or otherwise financially compensated in
exchange for submitting articles to billpalmer.net.
You will
not receive any share of any advertising revenue or
any other revenue. You will, however, get to see your name
in lights on billpalmer.net, at no cost to you. Feel free
to use the resulting publicity to promote yourself, your
work, etc.
-
As
long as you keep your internship active (by submitting the
required
number of quality articles), you will be considered
a part of the billpalmer.net family. What does this mean?
Well, nothing
is promised, but as billpalmer.net continues
to grow and as new opportunities arise, you might very well
find yourself representing
the site at Mac-related functions, gatherings,
events, etc. In other words, this is your chance to grow
along with the
site.
There
are currently only a limited number of internship positions
available. If you are interested, or if you know someone
who is, contact me at billpalmer@billpalmer.net.
Be sure to include your full name, some background information
about yourself, and -- don't forget the most important
part -- an original article that you've written! I look
forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer Owner
and publisher of billpalmer.net
