So much Mac news, so little time...
Follow the bouncing ball as I read and react:
- They say that the eMac has been end-of-life'd. Here's hoping that Apple chooses to take the eMac in the direction that it needs to go in.
- They also say that the PowerBook has been end-of-life'd. Note to self: start. saving. up. now.
- Apple has announced that it's going to open its retail stores an hour early this Saturday for the launch of iLife '05, the Mac Mini, and iWork. I should probably drag myself out of bed to go stand in line and snare myself a copy of iWork, but it's been a long week to be getting up that early on a Saturday morning. Maybe I'll just sneak in and pick up iWork on Saturday afternoon.
- The NFL and Audible have announced that this year's remaining pro football games will be made available in the iTunes Music Store. Presumably, this is a test-run aimed at making all of the NFL's games available next season. This means that when I drive three hours to attend DOlphins home games next year, I can just download the audio broadcast and enjoy it on the drive home...that is, if there are actually any Dolphins games worth re-living next season (sure weren't many this season). It's just one more reason to like iTunes, as if there weren't already enough.
- Full text of the absolute best email I received all week: "Stop making sense, you're killing my buzz."
- I've been given the names of some of the Speakers for the upcoming Macworld On Tour in Kissimmee (March 9-10), and although I'm not supposed to share them yet, suffice it to say that it's an exciting list. No, Steve Jobs isn't on it, but it's still top-tier stuff. Some respected Mac personalities that I'm really looking forward to meeting in person.
- Speaking of events in Florida, you music lovers will want to take a look at the upcoming iPod Garage Party, which we officially announced today. More details coming soon, but I can tell you that it's on Saturday, February 12th, and it's on Miami Beach...is there anything else you really need to know? I'll see you there.
- I know, I know, you came here looking for serious Macintosh commentary. Magic eight ball says check back just a little bit later...
